Yamaha DX9 synthesizer keyboard

$395.00

The DX9 is a wonderful sounding classic synth that Yamaha introduced in 1983. It is a part of the celebrated DX series, and nearly identical to the well known DX7 in many ways. The only subtle difference between this and the DX7 is that it has four operators, versus six.

What we love about the DX9

The on board patches are very fun and rich. To give you an idea, patch number 4 sounds exactly like the synth in the beginning of ‘You Got Lucky’ by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. it turns out, according to Tom Petty himself, they used a DX7.

Cosmetic notes on this instrument:

  • Comes with original music rack

  • A few minor chips to the dark brown powder coat (looks really great)

The keyboard stand shown in the photos is not included, but the stand can be purchased separately here.
