This power receptacle fits 200 series Wurlitzers with the more rectangular shaped IEC style power socket located on the back of the wooden keybed.

This can be used to replace older oval sockets, found on the Wurlitzer 200, with a tiny bit of woodwork. This will be a good upgrade if you want the reassurance of using a more universally available and new power cord.

If you would like us to add mounting screws, a soldered-on ground cable, and a ground mounting lug, select this option in the drop down. The options are as follows:

  • “Yes 200 series” should be selected for 200, 200A, 206 and other 200 series Wurlitzers that you would like to add a new power socket to the wooden keybed. This will include two wood screws and an extra long ground cable which should be screwed down to the amp rail near the power

  • “Yes chassis series” is for all amplifier types that involve metal chassis (like the 112, the 120, 700, 720, 140 and 145). This will include two bolts and nuts and a short ground wire with a ground lug. It is good practice to screw down the ground wire on it’s own bolt. To do so, simply drill a small hole (5/32”) in the chassis, near the power socket, where the ground wire can mount without risking coming in contact with other components.

To install simply remove your old power socket, replace with this new one and solder the power leads to the pins paying close attention to the lead color and lug location.

For a 120/700/140/145:

Replacing a chassis mounted power sockets with this is a great idea. The round hole only needs slight filing to make large enough to fit this plug (we have had the most luck mounting this at a 45-degree angle). You can add a ground cable to the third lug and you are up and running.

For a 112:

This socket can also be used to replace a 112 socket power socket. Though we love the look of all original parts original 112 power cords are hard to come by, and even disintegrate over time exposing bare wire and becoming very unsafe. This plug allows you to use newly available power cords. This plug also fits into the old hole with only slight filing to make it fit (and the old screw holes are nearly exactly the same width).
