Built for portability and featuring a vintage transistor based circuit architecture, this combo organ has portability and great tone! We especially love the original leg mounting and leg storage system found under the case. The instrument packs up neatly into one case for secure transport and compact storage if you need to make space for other gear in your studio.

Designed in the late 1960s, the Melo-sonic was intended to be very lightweight, and it has a relatively simple circuit for a combo organ. We consider this a big advantage, because not only does it give the Melo-sonic a unique sound of its own, it is a highly serviceable keyboard that is capable of being repaired again and again with components that are readily obtainable today. For this reason, the Melo-sonic can easily last another 50 years!
Unique from other divide-down organs, the Melo-sonic has one oscillator for each 3 adjacent notes in the treble section. One note in each oscillator can be played at one time. If two keys in the same oscillator are pressed, the highest note will play. This setup preserves the polyphony of most of the keyboard, while the player can use the cut-off of certain adjacent notes to interesting effect. The bass section uses one oscillator, so it is monophonic. The bass notes have an independent volume control from the treble, and a very nice clean bass tone.
These Melo-sonics will be freshly tuned and re-capped for you, and the contacts will be cleaned. Worn-out passive components, such as intonation resistors which have drifted in value over the past several decades, have also been replaced. Please allow up to 7 business days for us to complete tuning. Expedited service may be available on request.
We have two available! Select which one you want in the drop down!
Organ 1 (with legs): This is a Model 350, but it comes with its original legs. It also has less imperfections in the tolex
Organ 2 (no legs): This is a Model 350, it does not come with legs, and it has a few more imperfections in the tolex.
OPTIONAL: Install Wurlitzer leg plates on your Melo-sonic! The chrome Melo-sonic legs are extremely similar to Wurlitzer 200 legs (which is one of the reasons why we love this keyboard so much!). If desired, we can replace the original Melo-sonic leg plates with Wurlitzer leg plates for an additional $295, so that reproduction Wurlitzer legs can be used with the Melo-sonic keyboard. This price includes the cost of the legs and leg plates, plus installation. Note that, although original Melo-sonic legs can be stored underneath the organ, Wurlitzer legs are just very slightly larger, so they won’t fit in the leg holder on the bottom of the keyboard.
