Sound quality, functionality and a simple yet attractive design were the driving factors behind this speaker build.

Firstly, we wanted to make a speaker cabinet that sounded great. For that reason we made the cabinet very rigid and resistant to vibrations. We also installed a lovely sounding vintage paper cone 12” alnico speaker. But we also made the speaker terminals quick connect, and the rear panel attached with 12 screws, so a installing a different speaker down the road would be very easy to do.

Secondly, functionality was important. The speaker installed is a widely applicable 8Ω, and the 1/4” port is easily accessible on the back of the cabinet. The size is not overwhelmingly large or heavy, so the speaker can easily be moved around. The top has a low profile, yet sturdy, handle so a head or effects can be placed on top. The large rubber feet help decouple this speaker keep it sturdily planted wherever you place it.

Finally, we wanted the design to nod to vintage components (the hayday of great audio gear), but be aesthetically transitional enough to fit in many studio settings.
