PTFE jacketing can withstand higher temperatures and higher voltages. This is a Mil Spec 600V wire. PTFE is the only wire we will use for heater wires because of its durability and high ratings. Other wire jacketing will easily melt it you so much as tap it with a soldering iron, PTFE can take high heat and does not melt. The strands are silver plated copper.
