The Tropical Fish Satellite 248 came about when we wanted a very sturdy cabinet to test out vintage 4 × 8” oval speakers in. During the build process, we decided add a few nice touches, like use our new laser cutter to make a Wurlitzer 200 style hole speaker grille pattern. We kept the box minimal in size to stay true the tight space that the speakers have in the instrument itself. But the sturdy box allows the speakers (which have a generously sized magnet, and a nice paper cone) to really shine.
